Helicopter flying lessons or pilot training lessons are a unique experience that cannot be likened to anything else, and there are many ways to get you airborne and fulfilling your dreams in a way that will also suit your pocket.

From then on you can choose to pursue the commercial pilot route, rent out our aircraft yourself, buy your own helicopter, or even train to be an instructor. The Helicopters
Like many flight schools across the world, Sandtoft Helicopters uses the tried and tested Robinson R22 and R44 Raven Series 1 to conduct flight training.  The relatively low running costs of the 2 seat R22 and 4 seat R44 mean that entry level training is now more affordable than ever before.  Both the R22 and R44 have a proven track record within the flight training industry and are extensively used in many other fields such as the police force, areial filming, cable tracking and executive travel.  In addition to the cost benfits of learning to fly in an R22 or R44, you will find that almost everywhere you go, Robinson helicopters are utilised by aviation in some form or another.  This gives you fewer limitations and an added advantage should you ish to continue your training, rent a helicopter for self-fly, pursue a career in aviation, or become an instructor.  Whatever your intentions, it makes sense to learn to fly in a Robinson.  Besides that, they're excellent fun to fly!  Why not check out the home of Robinson Helicopters

The modern aerodrome is licensed by the CAA and has excellent facilities, including briefing rooms, ample car parking and bar and restaurant.

Directions
We are closer than you think. Sandtoft Airfield is located off the M180 near Doncaster. We are close to the major road links of the M62, A1, M18. M1 and M180. Leeds, Hull, York, Doncaster, Scunthorpe, Sheffield, Bradford, Wakefield, Huddersfield and Barnsley are all within approximately 1 hour of our airfield. Follow signs to the M180 and Sandtoft Aerodrome is located off junction 2. Take junction 2 (A161) and then turn towards Gainsborough, follow for 1 mile and turn right at the mini-roundabout. Continue for 1.5 miles through the village and the airfield is on the left. Sandtoft Helicopters office is located on the first floor.
