Location

By Road From the M180 take junction 2 and then take the A161 towards Gainsborough, follow for 1 mile and turn right at the mini roundabout. Continue for 11/2 miles through the village and the airfield is on the left. Nearest Airport Doncaster Sheffield (Robin Hood) Airport is approximately 10 miles away. Thomson, Ryanair and Flybe are just some of the companies that operate from there. Sandtoft Helicopters can arrange a collection service if required.

By Train

Doncaster has excellent railways links and from there a connecting train can be taken to Wroot which is approximately 5 miles away. Sandtoft Helicopters can arrange a collection service if required.

Once at the airfield, Sandtoft Helicopters and Highmark Aviation are located on the first floor of the Clubhouse. 

Aerodrome Information

Sandtoft Aerodrome lies in Class "D" with its own ATZ, and Air-Ground Radio, Freq 130.425 Runways available 23/05, Tarmac, Length 886m, Width 18m.

Standard Joining Procedure was altered in August 2008 when the Class D airspace at Doncaster came into effect.

The joining procedure is an overhead join at 1500ft Qfe with a circuit height of 1000ft Qfe.

The Circuit Pattern is RH for Rwy 23 and LH for Rwy 05.

Runway Lighting is for Rwy 23 only, with the A-PAPI's set at 4°.

Note: Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield lies approximately 6nm to the South West. This airport started operating in March 2005. (Further details can be found in CAA AIC 108/2004 (Yellow 156).

Sandtoft Aerodrome is a modern aerodrome and is licensed by the CAA. We are able to offer excellent facilities, including briefing rooms, ample car parking and bar and restaurant.
